Question by Take.A.Chance: How much spending money to bring to Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam?
So in December I am going for a vacation to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam for a month. All accommodation and transportation have/will be payed for by my parents so I’m not too worried about that stuff but for like clothing, souvenirs etc.. how much should I save up in Canadian money? I have been thinking about 0 for the trip, would that be enough?
I will be gone from home for a month.

Depends on how long your trip is, but that should last a couple of weeks.

$600 = 17,800 Baht for 1 month is not enough as i presume you want to go on trips ,eat out ,party and buy things – you need minimum of $1500 but you should take at least $2000 spending money.
it depends on your lifestyle and how much a spender you are..
take it on a daily basis. you will need atleast $30/day to get you about and going.
for your information: 1US$=31THB
eating and shopping is not expensive in the local markets in all the 3 places.
hope this helps.

You will def need more the $500, especially since you will be going to so many different places.
While the food is cheap your hotel and transportation will be paid for there are other amazing things to do that are not cheap at all. For example, holding and feeding a baby leopard and then getting a picture with a Full Grown Tiger $50, Taking an Elephant trip through the jungle for half a day $50, Renting a Motorcycle to go on a day trip with traveling buddies you met $100.
So by day 3 you only have $400 left. I give you those examples because I went to Thailand for a month with only $500 and by the end of the 2nd week I was out of cash and had to just sit in my hotel room.
If I were you I would bring $2,000 per month. You’re traveling through 3 different countries and $500 per week budget is not even stretching the imagination in terms of all there is to do. Most of the foreigners you meet in Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam will have rented their own motorcycles for around $100 per week, and including all the other adventures, you’ll be lucky if $500 a week is all you spend.
Borrow the money from your parents and tell them you’ll pay it all back when you return. I promise it will be worth it, but if you run out of money (like I did) you’re adventure will abruptly end.
